Three women, called brides of Christ, dedicate their lives to become “consecrated virgins living in the world” in a beautiful wedding ceremony in Detroit. This vocation, one of the earliest in the Catholic Church, was lost over the centuries and found renewal after the Second Vatican Council. This consecration ceremony has never been performed before in the Archdiocese of Detroit, and as far as records show, this is the first time in the United States that three women have been consecrated together.
