About two thousand Catholics of every age and background make up the diverse parish of St. Joseph Church in Astoria, Queens, New York City. Their task: Pull together for a carnival extravaganza and raise between fifty to sixty thousand dollars in just five days. Differences and obstacles are many, but the parish is united by faith and helped by the intercession of the carnival’s patron, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. This 12-minute documentary chronicles the ninth annual parish carnival, held in September 2013.
